Day 1 – Kayaking & Monkey Island

  • Arrival and transfer from airport or bus terminal
  • Brief visit to city’s main square and river viewpoint
  • Boat ride (40 min) along the Madre de Dios River to the jungle lodge
  • Welcome drink and room check-in
  • Kayaking on the Madre de Dios River (with safety boat)
  • Optional swim in the river
  • Visit Monkey Island to observe and feed friendly monkey species
  • Afternoon rest in hammocks with river sunset view
  • Night boat excursion to spot caimans, capybaras, and nocturnal birds

Day 2 – Lake Sandoval Adventure

  • Morning boat ride (40 min) to Lake Sandoval entrance
  • Walk (3 km / approx. 45 min) through rainforest to lake
  • Wildlife spotting along the trail (birds, monkeys, reptiles, insects)
  • Optional swim in the lake
  • Jungle-style lunch
  • Paddle boat tour to see hoatzins, cormorants, and giant river otters
  • Return to lodge in the afternoon

Day 3 – Native Family Visit & Rustic Fishing

  • Breakfast at the lodge

  • Return to lodge

Day 4 – Tambopata Forest Lodge & Jungle Hike

  • Morning transfer (by road and boat) to a remote jungle lodge along the Tambopata River

  • Visit to Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick to watch hundreds of macaws and parrots feeding
  • Jungle breakfast with a view of the clay lick
  • Stop at ranger station and small eco-museum
  • Lunch and short rest at lodge
  • Visit to El Gato waterfall for a swim
  • Learn about local Amazonian crops
  • Return journey: boat (20 min) + vehicle (2 hrs) back to Puerto Maldonado.
