Day 1 – Kayak and Monkey Island

  • Transfer from airport or bus terminal to the eco-lodge.
  • Visit city viewpoints and embark on a 40-minute river ride to the lodge.
  • Kayak adventure and visit to Monkey Island to observe and interact with monkeys.
  • Evening river tour to spot caimans, capybaras, and nocturnal wildlife.
  • Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2 – Lake Sandoval

  • Early morning boat ride to Lake Sandoval.
  • Short hike to the lake, exploring flora and wildlife.
  • Optional swim in the lake and typical Amazonian lunch.
  • Rowboat excursion to spot hoatzins, cormorants, and river otters.
  • Return to lodge and optional night walk.
  • Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Collpas and Primary Forest Walk

  • Travel to another lodge along the Tambopata River.
  • Afternoon walk through primary forest; observe monkeys, capybaras, and local flora.
  • Evening river walk for nocturnal wildlife observation.
  • Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4 – Collpa Chuncho and Departure

  • Early morning boat ride to Collpa Chuncho to witness macaws and parrots feeding on clay.
  • Breakfast at the site and short museum visit.
  • Afternoon visit to local waterfall and exploration of cultivated plants.
  • Return by boat and vehicle to Puerto Maldonado (hotel, airport, or bus terminal).
